Plastic Injection Mold Setup Technician, 2nd Shift (Full-Time)
$20–$30+ Per Hour
As a Plastic Injection Mold Setup Technician, 2nd Shift with Augustine Plastics, Inc. (API), you will use your minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on plastic injection mold setup experience and strong knowledge of machinery and equipment, including automation, to play a key role in the production of plastic parts and components for a wide array of industries including Aerospace & Defense, Energy, Medical, Water/Wastewater Treatment, and more. Work Monday to Friday, 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM with shift premium pay (training period shift TBD, either 1st Shift 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 3rd Shift, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM). Responsibilities/Duties:
- Follow Work Instructions to set up and change over injection molding machines, automation, and auxiliary equipment for different jobs.
- Maintain optimum molding processes.
- Perform material handling/storage, and other miscellaneous jobs.
- Evaluate parts per Molding and Finishing Guidelines and perform process validation on all start-up parts.
- Enter required information on IQMS RTStation operator panel.
- Establish process control plans per customer requirements.
- Maintain setup records.
- Identify and recommend parts and accessories that need to be ordered.
- Provide operator training as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on Plastic Injection Mold Setup experience, which includes mold setups, startups, processing, troubleshooting, and removal
- Strong knowledge of machinery and equipment including automation
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of resins and materials
- Manufacturing experience
- Heavy lifting
- Ability to use hoists or overhead cranes to maneuver and set up tooling weights of up to approximately 15,000 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail
- Negative Panel Drug Test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the following machinery and equipment preferred: Conair® Silo, hot stampers, ultrasonic welders, control systems, chiller, robots, forklift, scales, building hydraulic hose, building water hose, hopper loaders, parts separator, dryers, new molds, and miscellaneous equipment
- Experience with multimeters, air tools, hand tools, power tools, test equipment, gauges, scales, gantries, and hoists
- Experience with ERP/MRP software
- Valid forklift operator’s license
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Plastics Technologist Certification or Associate degree in Plastics Technology highly preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on plastic injection mold setup experience required
- Willing to train the right candidate with extensive mechanical and machinery experience

- Training on either 1st Shift or 3rd Shift, TBD
- Shift premium pay
- Occasional overtime as needed
