Quality Inspector, Plastics (Full-Time)
$18–$30 Per Hour

Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform all duties in accordance with requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 Rev. D Quality Management Systems.
- Accurately complete and diligently maintain all required quality inspection documentation on a daily basis.
- Read and interpret drawings, industry specifications (e.g., aerospace, military, medical) and/or manufacturing instructions, and complex Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
- Inspect and audit all plastic injection molded parts using variable or attribute measuring equipment, and record results to ensure conformance with part and customer requirements.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using various metrology equipment such as CNC coordinate measuring machines (CMMs); image dimension measurement systems; profilometers; custom-measuring fixtures, tools, and systems; pins, plugs, micrometers, and calipers; linear height and depth gauges; go/no-go gauges; and vision systems.
- Inspect in-process production for conformance to customer specifications and Augustine Plastics work instructions.
- Receive and inspect incoming parts and materials. Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
- Collaborate with customers and vendors regarding specification, requirements, etc.
- Train production personnel on work instructions and customer requirements.
- Work with production personnel to ensure that processes are reliably producing conforming products.
- Recommend necessary corrective actions based on inspection results.
- Perform with little to no supervision using your quality inspection experience.
- Attend and participate in required onsite meetings.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate measuring instruments or test equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience performing inspections of parts (ideally plastic) in a production/manufacturing quality department
- Working knowledge of a variety of metrology equipment
- Experience completing and maintaining required company documentation
- Excellent time-management, math, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Computer and software experience
- Working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Negative Panel Drug Test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 Rev. D Quality Management Systems
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding
- Actual plastic injection molding experience is a plus
- Proven experience inspecting plastic injection molded parts
- Knowledge of Part Production Approval Process (PPAP)
- CMM experience (programming and running) is highly desired
- Demonstrated experience using quality management software for manufacturing
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prefer a minimum of 3–5 years performing quality inspections of plastic injection molded parts, ideally in the aerospace, military, or medical industry

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Overtime as needed to meet quality/inspection requirements
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Somerset, PA 15501: Reliably commute, or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
